IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS: 25/11/2020
Yellow warning (L2) for severe thunderstorms with possible impacts of localized flooding of low lying areas and bridges, including susceptible roads are expected over much of Limpopo as well as the Highveld of Mpumalanga,— SA Weather Service (@SAWeatherServic) November 25, 2020
The service warned that the heavy downpours can cause formal and informal settlements or roads to flood. “Major roads may be affected but can still be used, however, with an increased travel time. It will cause difficult driving conditions on dirt roads and minor motor vehicle accidents due to slippery roads and reduced visibility,” they said.
They advised people to try and seek shelter indoors away from metal structures during the storms.
