Bendor house robbery: two denied bail, one still on the run

The three men broke into the house and robbed the occupants of money, jewellery and other goods on Thursday evening.

POLOKWANE – The two men appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court and were denied bail, confirmed Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe. Their case was postponed to 3 December for bail application and further police investigations.

POLOKWANE – Quick reaction by the police led to the arrest of two men in connection with an armed robbery at a house in Outspan Drive, Bendor last night (Thursday, 12 November).

The three men, armed with a firearm and a sharp instrument, entered the house at around 20:50. “The suspects firstly entered a room where a woman was sleeping, tied her up and stole her cellphones and a school bag. They then proceeded to the other rooms, threatened the occupants and took several cell phones, jewellery, vehicle keys, house keys, clothing and an undisclosed amount of money, said Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngeope.

During the robbery one of the victims managed to contact the police. They responded quickly and two the suspects were arrested a short distance from the crime scene. A third man however managed to evade arrest.

During the arrest the police recovered some of the robbed items as well as a knife and a toy gun.

The third suspect is still on the run and the police appeal to anyone with information that can lead to his arrest, to contact Det WO Donald Maleka at 072 306 2817.

Both suspects are expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of house robbery.
