Gr. 3’s bond around the camp fire

Christian Achievers Academy started a new tradition just before the holiday started by going camping with the gr. 3 learners on the school premises to mark the closing of the third term.

The 12 learners and their teacher, Charlene Pieterse and the principal, Norma Grant pitched their tents before going on a sweet hunt and having a braai.

The learners then enjoyed games such as bingo and musical chairs, after which the evening ended with dinner, the telling of jokes around the camp fire and singing.

Before leaving the following day, the group enjoyed an early breakfast and every learner was given a special T-shirt and lucky packet as a parting gift.

“The camp was a great success and we look forward to making it an annual event to bond with the learners before the fourth and final term kicks off, where it is hard work all the way,” said Charlene Pieterse, gr. 3 teacher.
