35 614 Covid-19 tests conducted, 6 286 new cases

The number of recoveries currently stands at 461 734

The National Department of Health confirmed 286 more Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 11 556: Gauteng recorded the most deaths with 76, followed by 54 in KwaZulu-Natal, 42 from the Eastern Cape, 28 from the Western Cape, 26 from North West, 22 from Mpumalanga, 20 from the Free State and 18 from the Northern Cape.

A total of 35 614 Covid-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, with 6 286 new cases. In the private sector, 23 857 new tests were conducted, with 11 757 in the public sector.

The number of recoveries currently stands at 461 734, which translates to a recovery rate of 79%.
