President Ramaphosa to ‘Zoom’ in on gender-based violence and femicide

The president will participate in a virtual national men's dialogue tomorrow, which will focus on ending gender-based violence and femicide.

POLOKWANE – Well-known South African male personalities such as Jimmy Tau (former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs’ player), Themba Bavuma (Proteas cricketer), Aaron Messelaar (deputy general secretary of Contralesa), Scarra Ntubeni (Springbok rugby player), Dr Llewelyn Macmaster (moderator of the Cape Regional Synod of the Uniting Reformed Church in Southern Africa) and others will, on Friday, join President Cyril Ramaphosa during the virtual national men’s dialogue.

Under the theme ‘Men as partners: Generation equality’, the ANC’s National Spokesperson, Pule Mabe says the dialogue is an initiative by the party, working together with civil society and will tackle issues currently faced by ordinary South Africans on a daily basis.

The dialogue will start at 18:00 on Zoom and the ANC’s social media platforms (@MYANC).

“The ANC is making a clarion call to all men to be part of a generation that will achieve gender equality and end gender-based violence,” Mabe concluded.
