Power restored in Bendor after cable theft

Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala said the public should report all electricity related issues to the Smart Meter Support Centre.

POLOKWANE – Electricity supply has been restored to the affected areas after cables were stolen on Wednesday morning.

Debron Estate, Casa Acacia, Vharanani Street and surrounding areas in Bendor were affected. Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala says municipal workers have since replaced the stolen cables and electricity supply has been  been restored to all the affected areas.


POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says areas within the city are currently without power due to cable theft.

These areas include Debron Estate, Casa Acacia, Vharanani Street and surrounding areas in Bendor, according to a statement by Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala.

This is the second time this month that the Bendor area has been affected by cable theft.

“Power supply will be restored once municipal workers have replaced the cables. In the meantime, all affected areas are advised to treat all electrical wiring and appliances as live to avoid injury and damage when power supply is restored,” he added.

Selala urged areas with power to use it efficiently and reminded the public to report all electricity related issues to the Smart Meter Support Centre at  087 350 2770 or WhatsApp them on 064 963 9609.
