Manhunt after attack on elderly couple, worker in Haenertsburg
The couple and their domestic worker were assaulted and robbed.
LIMPOPO – The police in Haenertsburg are looking for three men who attacked, assaulted and robbed an elderly couple and their domestic helper on Sunday morning.
The attack on the 73-year-old farmer and his 70-year-old wife, happened on the Escatre farm in Houtbosdorp outside Haenertsburg , said Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlefela Mojapelo.
Police reports revealed that the three men had entered the couple’s house at around 02:45 and held them at gunpoint while demanding money, and ransacked the house.
The elderly woman was assaulted and suffered injuries to her face during the incident.
“After robbing the couple of cash, three firearms (two .22 revolvers and a .22 rifle) and two cellphones the men proceeded to the domestic worker’s room. There they tied up the 48-year-old woman and robbed her of cash and her cellphone, before they fled the scene” said Mojapelo.
