More than 300 new cases in last 24 hours in Limpopo

Deaths were also recorded in four of the districts.

LIMPOPO – Covid-19 cases in the province have increased by 302 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to over 3 340 on Tuesday, 14 July. Four new deaths were also reported; one in the Polokwane, Giyani, Tzaneen and Letaba municipalities, respectively.

According to the Department of Health, the majority of cases were reported in the Waterberg district, 63 in Thabazimbi, 20 in Mogalakwena, Bela-Bela nine and seven each in Lephale and Modimolle-Mookgophong municipalities.

The Capricorn district recorded the second most cases, with 81 reported in Polokwane, and eight in Lepelle Nkumpi municipality.

In Sekhukhune 52 new cases were reported, 22 in Elias Motsoaledi, 18 in Fetekgomo Tubatse, 10 in Makhuduthmaga and two in Ephraim Mogale.

A total of 28 new cases were reported in the Mopani district, nine in Tzaneen, Ba-Phalaborwa seven, Giyani six, Maruleng four and two in Letaba.

The Vhembe district reported 24 cases, of which 11 were reported in Collins Chabane Municipality, 10 in Thulamela and three in Makhado.

The department confirmed that of the cases in the province 2 091 are active, while 1 207 people have recovered. The province has 42 Covid-19 deaths.
