DA meeting in city for all members

The DA will hold a combined meeting for all party members in wards 20, 21, 22 and 23, as well as residents interested in joining the party tonight (Tuesday) at the hall of the old police club next to the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

DA ward councillor for ward 23, Roelof Lourens the aim of the meeting is to launch new branches in the wards, welcome new members and renew the annual DA membership for existing members.

Wards 20, 21, 22 en 23 roughly include Polokwane CBD, Bendor, Ster Park, Woodlands, Ivy Park, Flora Park, Ladanna and the neighbouring small holdings like Ivydale, Roodepoort, Sterkloop, Palmietfontein, Dalmada, Soetdorings, Tweefontein, Leeuw-kuil, Baskoppies and Kalkfontein.

“The meeting starts at 18:30. There will be a cash bar available for people who wish to stay a little longer and get to know their ward councillors and each other better,” Lourens said.

He said the DA’s membership fee was only R20 or R10 per annum, depending on your work status.

“Using Burger Street to reach the club house is the easiest way. Just keep straight on your way to the stadium.

“Stop at the parking area of the club and enter through the small pedestrian gate in the palisade at the eastern side of club’s big gate to gain entrance to the hall,” he explained. Lourens said he would like to see all DA members at the club.

Voters in ward 23 are:

• Those who voted at Laerskool Piet Hugo;

• Those who voted at Laerskool Pieters-

burg-Noord;

• Residents who live between Nelson Man-

dela Drive and Oost Street and between Grobler and Hospital Street;

• Residents who live between Genl Maritz

and Potgieter Street, and Arnotha Drive and Genl Viljoen Street;

• Residents who live to the north of Veld

spaat Street and the R81 who voted at Mitchell House; and

• Residents on smallholdings on the N1 north to Makhado who voted at Dream Valley, both sides of the road: Doornbult, Soetdorings, Palmietfontein, Tweefontein, Kalkfontein.
