‘Together we are stronger, especially when we give’

Annemi Strydom and Mywish Muyengwa donated masks along with vitamins and sanitiser to Samaritan House

POLOKWANE – Local resident Annemi Strydom recently donated baby clothes to Samaritan House in Polokwane and this is when she learned of another, more urgent need.

“The staff told me the one thing they desperately need, was masks. Washable masks are not easy to obtain in these times so I decided to make a plan.”

Annemi asked on Facebook if anyone knew where she could get some washable masks.

“I received many responses, but one person stood out. At this stage I never met or even heard of Mywish Muyengwa. Mywish is the owner of a brand-new local pharmacy, Med-Express. Not only did Mywish help me to procure washable masks, but she donated them together with immune boosting vitamins and hand sanitiser for the children.”

Annemi and Mywish dropped of 10 masks along with the vitamins and sanitiser at the children’s home, where the staff thankfully received it.

Mywish says it is important to give back to the community.

“This is the time where the less fortunate are the most vulnerable because they have no one to turn to. The few of us who are able to give the little that we can, should. I believe that we are here to serve one another at some point in time. Now is the time for us to unite and offer our services selflessly to those who need them.”

Annemi said it warms her heart to see our nation supporting each other.

“It warms my heart to see how our nation has reacted to these trying times and how we support one another. Together we are stronger.”
