SAVF calls for your help as ‘the needs keep piling up’

The SAVF Limpopo serves a wide range of organisations in various communities.

POLOKWANE – Three ECD day-cares, a shelter for vulnerable women and children, one old-age home, four housing schemes for the aged and seven social work offices.

According to Regional Manager, Serena Mc Laren, the needs during this time are piling up. “The social work offices have received requests for non-perishable foods, nappies, baby milk formula and warm clothes for children from birth to 18 years. The children urgently need activities like colouring books and pencils, clay, puzzles or soft toys. Most of these families live in poor conditions and it would benefit the little children with their scholastic development. The social work offices also get many requests for warm clothes, shoes for men and women and blankets,” says Mc Laren.

Some of the SAVF clients are currently struggling to collect their chronic medications from the clinics and provincial hospitals since they’re out of stock. To buy these necessary items from pharmacies is much more expensive. Assistance in this regard would be highly appreciated.
