Take your lockdown workout routine to the next level with personal trainer Thabo Ntuli

The 21-day lockdown has brought many lives to a halt, and with that, training programmes. Thabo Ntuli, personal trainer and owner of Tsculpt (outdoor fitness) says people should use this time to work even harder to keep keep fit and healthy and offers a workout routine that one can do at home.

POLOKWANE – The 21-day lockdown has brought many lives to a halt, and with that, training programmes. Fitness is much more than just exercise, it is a lifestyle and  Thabo Ntuli, personal trainer and owner of Tsculpt (outdoor fitness) says people should use this time to work even harder to keep keep fit and healthy. “If you’re used to going to gym, the lockdown cannot be an excuse for you to not workout. Use it as an opportunity to work even harder on your body,” he said.

“There are times when we just can’t get to the gym for a workout, times such as now, where we’re going to be indoors for longer than we expected,” he said. Thabo says working out at home is the perfect opportunity to get fit by using whatever equipment or props available. “While some may struggle with adhering to working out at home, others are able to thrive and find they can take their workout routines to a whole new level, try to be that person,” he said.

Thabo told BONUS that not only can you choose workouts that best fit your schedule at home, but you will also save time, money (and petrol), driving to and from the gym, checking in, changing in the locker room and waiting for equipment. “All of that often adds up to more time than your actual workout, so grab this opportunity with both hands,” he advised.

Thabo gave BONUS a simple workout that readers can do at home:

– Skipping rope (1 minute; 30 second rest)

– Star jumps (1 minute; 30 second rest)

– Squats (1 minute; 30 second rest)

– Lunges (1 minute; 30 second rest)

– Sit-ups (1 minute; 30 second rest)

– High knees (1 minute; 30 second rest)

– Butt kicks (1 minute; 30 second rest)

– Mountain climbers (1 minute; 30 second rest)

Repeat the cycle five times.

Thabo offers live workouts that readers can follow on his Instagram page @Thabontuli. He calls it the #21DayLockdownChallenge and it includes a workout and meal plans which will run until 16 April.
