Gear up for supreme soccer action at annual Sinthumule Kutama Easter Challenge
Altogether 16 teams will participate in this year's annual Sinthumule Kutama Easter Challenge over the Easter weekend.
LIMPOPO –Â In a toss which took place at Premjee & Son Cash and Carry on 17 March, it was decided the games will be played on 30 and 31 March, and 1 April.
All Sinthumule villages would play at Magau village on Good Friday, 30 March, at Magau United Ground. The matches are as follows: Gogobole vs Madabani (09:00), Tshiozwi vs Masakona (11:00), Tshikota vs Maila (13:00) and Magau vs Ravele (15:00).
The Kutama villages play at the Black Aces soccer field in Manavhela village on Good Friday and the fixtures are: Midoroni vs Makhitha (09:00), Muraleni vs Maebani (11:00), Tshikwarani vs Madodonga (13:00) and Manavhela vs Zamenkomste (15:00).
All winning villages will move on to the next matches which are set to take place at Vhuilafuri Stadium on Saturday.
The semi-final and final are set to take place on Sunday at Vhulaifuri Stadium.
“The champions for the Sinthumule Kutama Easter Challenge 2018 will receive R10 000 cash prize, new soccer kit, floating trophy, 30 gold medals and sponsor hampers,” said Mamu Community Development General Secretary, Jafter Mamugudubi. The Jerry Sikhosana Goal Post, which comes with a cash prize, will be contested by all 14 village teams who didn’t go through to the finals.
The u/17 and u/19 teams from different villages will play the curtain raiser match before the final on the Sunday.
Former Orlando Pirates legends, Jerry Legs of Thunder Sikhosana, Tonic Chabalala and Kaizer Chiefs’ Multichoice Diski coach, Arthur 10111 Zwane will coach the u/17 and u/19 teams as part of talent scouting on the day.
At least two netball teams, Magau netball and Madombidzha netball, will vie for the champion title. Khakhathi and Friends will entertain the guests and Thovhele Vho Rudzani Sinthumule will honour the matches.
Jumping castles and other fun activities will provide ample entertainment for children.
