3 including a chief in court for murder case

The group allegedly led by the chief, accused the deceased of housebreaking and theft of a plasma TV

LIMPOPO – A 32-year-old Chief of Madibong Village and two other community members appeared in the Jane Furse Magaistrate’s Court on Friday in connection with the murder of a man (27) on 25 July 2016.

The local Traditional leader, Chief Kgoloko Morwamoche, Khomotjo Matlala (28) and Godfrey Segopotje (24) were arrested for the murder of  27-year-old Jacob Mataboge said provincial police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The group allegedly led by the chief, accused the deceased of housebreaking and theft of a plasma TV.

“They caught the deceased and assaulted him using various objects. He later died in hospital from his injuries sustained during the assault added Ngoepe.

The case was postponed to 16 August (tomorrow) in the Sekhukhune District Court for a formal bail application.

Investigations continue concludes Ngoepe.
