Manhunt still on for kidnapper (27)

Siloam police have staged a manhunt after a Zimbabwean man, who was dumped by his concubine, vented his anger by kidnapping a seven-year-old girl at Tshavhalovhedzi Village near Thohoyandou last Thursday.

LIMPOPO – Spokesperson for the Siloam Police, WO Edward Tharaga said the suspect was Wisdom Ntsakazo (27).

“The girl’s mother confirmed she was staying with Ntsakazo in Gauteng and things turned ugly when she dumped him. He allegedly told the young mother that he would cause her pain. He then went to the primary school and kidnapped her child,” Tharage said.

Police have notified staff at the Beitbridge Border Post of the case.

“We gave officials at the border post photographs of the kidnapper and the girl. We have opened a kidnapping case,” said Tharaga.

He advised teachers not to allow a stranger to fetch their children from school.

Last year, a Zimbabwean labourer kidnapped a four-year-old South African girl, illegally crossed the border and held her hostage for eight months in Zimbabwe to force her father to pay R1 550 he alleged he was owed.

The girl had been reunited with her parents and the Thohoyandou Victim Empowerment Programme (TVEP) was also roped in to assist.

She had the scars of whiplashes across her back and has cut marks, possibly from a razor blade, on her body. She is finding it difficult to speak her mother tongue, Tshi-Venda and she is fluent in Shona due to the long stay Zimbabwe.
