Pastor donates 2-bedroom house to family

A businessman and pastor has donated a two-bedroom house to the family of Modjadji Mashele in Makuleke village outside Malamulele

LIMPOPO – This donation came after he realised that the family of five has been living in a dilapidated rondavel for many years.

Lesley Maake of Batho Ba Morako Construction and Sereteng Worship Center said he saw a need to build the family a house because they couldn’t afford to build their own.

According to Maake, he saw the Modjadji family when he attended a conference in 2004 at Makuleke. When he came back to the church in 2016, the hut they lived in remained the same.

“I asked my church members to accompany me and that’s when I decided to help and make a difference in their lives. I believe in blessing other people and I know this is what God wanted me to do – to help change the lives of those who are less fortunate than us,” he explained.

Rosina Maluleke, Thulamela Municipality Ward 13 councillor, said: “as government, we appreciate what Maake has done for the family. We wish to have many businessmen like him who don’t only feel the need to care for only themselves and their families, but for those less fortunate within the community as well”.

Mashele, the beneficiary of the house, gave Maake a heartfelt thank you for blessing them with a house.

“We used to struggle during rainy days due to the condition of the rondavel we lived in but today we will sleep peacefully in the knowledge that we have a proper roof over our heads,” she said.
