With her debut book she motivates

When Venus Mkhabela started writing at the age of 11, many people thought she was wasting her time

LIMPOPO – But her hard work and dedication have paid off with the release of a motivational book, which has everyone from her village and the entire Malamulele talking.

Mkhabela hails from Muchipisi in Malamulele and her debut book, Unstoppable Generation: Reaching Forward For What is Ahead, was launched in Muchipisi.

She said her book is a motivational book which encourages people to develop their inner selves before showing their talents to the world, and not to try and fly until their wings are strong enough.

At the age of 20, Mkhabela is not only a young author, she is also a pastor of the Battle of Souls Ministry under senior pastor Tshembhani Yingwani.

Mkhabela attended high school at EPP Mhinga High School and the principal, Aubrey Mabasa, said she showed great potential even during her school years.

“Venus and her book will go a long way in motivating rural kids that irrespective of their background, they can reach their dreams if they work hard,” Mabasa said.

The third born daughter of Magezi Phineas and his wife, Joyce Mkhabela, Venus said she was called at an early age to become a minister of the Gospel of Christ.

“I am very grateful to God that I was able to discover my gift as an author at an early age and granting me the ability to pursue my dreams,” she said.

She matriculated from EPP Mhinga in 2013 and is currently studying towards a diploma in chemical engineering.

“At the age of 17 years I received an opportunity to render motivational poems on various occasions, both matrimonial and mourning as far away as Mpumalanga. God used me to change lives through my preaching and prayers and now He will help me change more lives through my written word,” she said.

She said she found inspiration from the late pastor Myles Munroe’s works and she loves writing short stories and poems.
