Police empower women on their protection rights

Police conducted a door-to-door campaign in Ext 44 on Human Rights Day

POLOKWANE – Following several complaints of domestic violence in the Westenburg policing area, especially in Ext 44, the Westenburg police celebrated Human Rights Day with a door-to-door campaign in Ext 44, educating women on their rights and how to use these rights to protect themselves.

Women were also given information leaflets with numbers they can call for help and places where they can get help if they are in domestic relationships.

Const Elias Setati, a Westenburg police spokesperson said: “knowing your rights give you power to protect yourself at all times. Be educated on your rights and do not become a victim of crime”.
