Muni set to promote library awareness

South African Library Week started on 11 March and ends on 21 March

POLOKWANE – In celebration of the South African Library Week (SALW), which started yesterday (Friday) and ends on 21 March, the Polokwane Municipality will engage in various activities with an objective to promote library awareness.

This will also create a culture of reading while providing a platform to advance social cohesion and skills development through technology.

The theme for this year’s SALW celebration is #libraries4lifelonglearning.

According to the Library and Information Association of South Africa the theme resonates with the belief that libraries connect people to each other to share knowledge and information, electronic resources, technology and professional support.
