ATM bombing at filling station in Apel

LIMPOPO – There was an ATM bombing at a local filling station in Apel this morning.

Police spokesperson, Col Malesela Ledwaba said personnel at the filling station noticed three suspicious looking men and quickly closed the shop.

“Two more men wearing balaclavas also joined the three and in a few minutes, a loud explosion came from the direction of the ATM. The suspects’ attempt to access the money was thwarted by a quick response by the police,” said Ledwaba.

He said a massive manhunt for the suspects has been launched.

“We appeal to whoever might shed light about the suspects to contact the investigating detective Sgt Mahlathini Sebetha at 071 439 5059, Apel police  or to contact 08600 10111.”
