POLOKWANE – THE Polokwane Living Gospel World Mission Church, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, is a church committed to taking care of the poor, the sick and the neglected.

To round off Mandela month, the men’s forum of the church held an event in order to meet their objective to remember those less fortunate during this time of the year.

On the last Sunday of the month, the forum handed out 10 food vouchers to church goers that had been identified as needy.

The vouchers were from a well-known supermarket where the people could go to buy groceries.

After the church event, the forum went to visit the corner of Excelsior and Hans van Rensburg Streets in Polokwane. This area is a notorious place for homeless people that sleep on the street. The men’s forum, assisted by the women of the church, prepared and gave out food to about 50 homeless people

“The event was planned to spread the message of God’s love to the community,” explained the chairperson for the men’s forum, Adam Chauke.

Chauke further explained that the men’s forum is a fellowship which was established by the men of the Living Gospel World Mission Church in Polokwane.

The forum was established in 2012 to be a platform where men gather to form a fellowship in Christ, and discuss and resolve men-related issues and to carry out social programmes for the benefit of God’s kingdom.
