LTA holds strategic workshop

The Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) board will engage in a strategic workshop in Bela Bela from August 4 to 6.

LIMPOPO – The Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) board will engage in a strategic workshop in Bela Bela from August 4 to 6.

The purpose of the strategic session will be, among others, to help navigate the organisation towards the achievement of good governance, integrate and streamline tourism functions in the province in line with National Tourism Sector Strategy (NTSS), ensure delivery of quality tourism services and strengthen its administrative arm to achieve a clean audit.

The board has also invited the MEC for economic development, environment and tourism (Ledet), Seaparo Sekoati to address the opening session of the workshop. Other stakeholders invited to the session include Gateway Airport Authority Limited, department of transport, safety and liaison, office of the premier, the national department of tourism and South African Tourism.

LTA board chairperson, Andrew Dipela is optimistic that the workshop will bear fruit for LTA as the organisation will be reengineered given the new single mandate of only focusing on marketing tourism in the province.

“This could not have come at the right time after Limpopo was announced the leader in respect of domestic tourism in the country. Our desire is to develop a strategy and create an organisational design fit to carry out the strategy, which will be budgeted for,” says Dipela.
