POLOKWANE – THIRTY-two young people competed in the Filito Limpopo tournament 2015 at Mall of the North over the weekend, where the participants competed in video games.

The Limpopo tournament is a first of its kind and was held from Friday until Sunday.

Samuel Mpaga, managing director of T-Empross Marketing, said the objective of the competition was to give participants the opportunity to showcase their gaming skills.

“We wish to have a sponsor like EA Sports in future. As it is the school holidays, we wanted to keep young children occupied,” said Mpaga.

He thanked RĂ©ne van der Merwe, Mall of the North marketing manager, for the opportunity to host the tournament at the centre, Kevin Bothma, the Game store manager and hip hop artist, Jacky “Mopedy” Morema for making an appearance.

The winner was David Mphahlele, who won a trophy and R500 Game stores voucher.
