Casino in Burgersfort completely committed to the wellbeing of community it serves

THE new Thaba Moshate Hotel Casino and Convention Resort, which opened its doors in Burgersfort last Thursday, is already showing commitment to the community by committing R1 million towards a corporate social investment (CSI) programme that will assist community projects in the Tubatse region.

BURGERSFORT – THE new Thaba Moshate Hotel Casino and Convention Resort, which opened its doors in Burgersfort last Thursday, is already showing commitment to the community by committing R1 million towards a corporate social investment (CSI) programme that will assist community projects in the Tubatse region.

Peermont corporate affairs executive, Vusi Zwane, said Thaba Moshate had identified Mmasethankge Crèche as the first CSI project.

“In a joint venture partnership with Breet Construction Company, which is the main contractor for the Thaba Moshate resort, the crèche benefited from a R300 000 refurbishment and expansion programme.

The refurbished crèche is situated in Mashifane Park near the new entertainment resort.

“Peermont firmly believes in improving the well-being of communities in which they operate.

“This is achieved by skills training and investment support through the various Peermont trusts and other CSI and responsibility initiatives focused within four designated pillars which are education, youth development, entrepreneurial enrichment and environmental enrichment.

“We are committed to long-term sustainable development and thrive on our involvement in the communities in which our resorts operate,” he said.

He further said Thaba Moshate would provide corporate conference space for the Tubatse progressive community radio station’s trustees to use for their monthly meetings, and had committed to building a radio mast to extent the broadcast footprint of the station to the local community.

“This investment will be to the value of R150 000, and will assist the station in broadening its reach to its communities in the Greater Sekhukhune area,” he said.

“The Serotong Convenience Shop situated at the casino entrance to the resort has been assisted in its start-up operations as a smaller enterprise development project, and is being charged only a minimum rental to encourage its success.

“Local resident, Lucia Masoma, has been provided with capital to the value of R35 000 to purchase the required equipment and infrastructure to run the car wash.

“Masoma has employed six local women into employment equity positions, and is already creating a successful enterprise in the short time that the car wash has been operational,” Zwane said.
