Cargo full steam ahead

CARGO Mamabolo, the principal and head coach of Cargo Sports Academy, is confident the academy's netball team is the team to watch when the Polokwane Netball Association (Polneta) league resumes in a few weeks time.

LIMPOPO – CARGO Mamabolo, the principal and head coach of Cargo Sports Academy, is confident the academy’s netball team is the team to watch when the Polokwane Netball Association (Polneta) league resumes in a few weeks time.

Mamabolo is convinced that the talented players will give a good account of themselves when the league starts.

“We have set our priorities right. We are aiming high and we will definitely achieve a lot this season. Our main aim is to win the league championships and conquer the annual Polokwane Mayor’s Cup trophy later in August. We are approaching this season with a comprehensive game plan that will leave our opponents rattled,” says Mamabolo.

The Cargo ship is steered by a motivated captain, Maggie Madipane, who is also influential in decision-making of the game plan.

As a centre player, she commands the troops at the heart of the court, linking the team with sheer composure alongside Mapula Mannya.

Minah Mothapo and Pinky Dikotla, who play wing attack and wing defender respectively, are the supporting cast in a team chock-full of skill and attention to detail.

Mamabolo has stressed the importance of keeping the opposition at bay, but he remains cool, as he has the quality of goalkeeper, Reineth Aphane.

To score maximum points, the team will rely heavily on the experience of Tebatso Seopa and Rebecca Phoshoko.

“With this talent, I hope we will repeat last year’s heroics that saw us win position one in the Dikgale/Sebayeng cluster during the Mayor’s Cup.”
