Sapa Yopa biker killed in head-on collision in Mokopane
Col Moatshe Ngoepe confirmed that a case of culpable homicide is being investigated following a bike crash that claimed the life of 32-year-old, Hector Mopokga
MOKOPANE – It was a sad morning for the family of Hector Mopokga, a well-known biker of the Sapa Yopa Motorcyle Club, and taxi driver from Sandsloot Ga Masenya village, when they received the news of a head-on collision in Nelson Mandela Drive.
The incident on Friday, 28 February claimed the life of the 32-year-old father of one.
According to police investigations the motorcycle was hit by two vehicles. It is alleged that the motorcycle was first hit by a bakkie that was turning into the direction of the garage, after which it swerved and was hit by a taxi.
Col Moatshe Ngoepe confirmed that a case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
Hector’s brother, Ronnie Mopokga, said that the family is still in shock. He told Bosveld that Hector had already paid half of the labola to the family of the girl of his dreams. The funeral arrangements are yet to be confirmed after a family meeting.
This week, family and friends will celebrate the life of Hector before he is laid to rest.
