Learners’ plans for winter holidays

The school holidays are here and Review spoke to a few learners to find out what they planned for the cold winter holidays.

POLOKWANE – The school holidays are here and Review spoke to a few learners to find out what they planned for the cold winter holidays.

Rofhiwa Nevhutalu (11) said he planned to stay at home and relax.

“My cousins are coming over, so we will just have fun together.”

“I’m going to visit my brothers who live far away,” said Phogole Mamagobo (11). “I think the holiday is too short, I could do with another five or six days.”

Boitumelo Mphahlele (10) said she planned to travel to Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg and Pretoria with her family. “I think the holiday is long enough to do what I want to do,” she said.

Benjamin Snyman (5) said his family would go to Durban for the holidays to celebrate his sixth birthday. “I want a guitar for my birthday,” he said.

Tumelo Teffo (13) said there was a lot of work ahead for her in the holiday because she planned to study and revise the last term’s school work. Her friend Precious Kgosana (13), planned to help her aunt at Samaritan House. “They need all the volunteers they can get. They are busy during this time and I like to help.”

Moagisi Kganyago (10) also planned to use his time off to study, especially for a natural science test that loomed on the horizon.

Neo Miz Phala (10) said he wanted to ask his father to help him fix a car and to take him to the ovals during the holidays. “My dad should teach me how to drive, I want to drive a fast car,” he said.

Thabo Semenya (10) was excited about the holidays because she was going to visit her mother in Johannesburg.

“We will go to Gold Reef City, but my mom is too scared of some of the rides.”
