POLOKWANE – The magic of CrossFit is in the movements and the workouts carried out by participants every day. Each day brings its own workout and sessions are modified to help each athlete achieve their goals and workouts can be adapted for people at any age and level of fitness.

The strength and endurance of BodyLife’s Bendor and Flora Park members were tested during the first BodyLife Rowing Challenge, hosted at the CrossFit Polokwane Box on Thursday.

The competition started out with the ladies participating in an over and under 60 kg 1200 m row for time and the men followed with a under and over 85 kg 1 500 m row for time which saw Michaela Booysen and Charl Liversage take first place in their respective categories.

Organiser, David van Ryneveld told BONUS that they plan to grow the competition. “The first session was a huge success. Our members used concept two rowing machines to compete in the challenge, which is a big deal and we plan on hosting more,” he said.

To qualify, members had to notify their BodyLife personal trainers and were then given instructions, shown correct methodology, technique and execution for the challenge. Personal trainers also supervised each member’s row and recorded their times.
