‘The customer is always right at a shop, not in a taxi’

Review compiled a few clap-backs that can raise the hair on your back.

POLOKWANE – Going into a public taxi should be considered getting into dangerous territory and not just because of the scourge of taxi violence but rather because of the drivers behind the wheels of these taxis we rely on to get from point A to B. Twitter was recently abuzz about some of the best clap-backs they have received from a taxi driver.

1. On a long distance taxi journey

Lady: We are sitting so uncomfortably but we paid.

Driver: Sister, there’s your man next to you, tell him to buy a car so you can sit comfortably.

2. When you trying to speak to them in English

They will be like “Uzong’tshela uma usuqedile ukuphapha”, which means “You’ll tell when you are done being too forward.”

3. Passenger: Driver, I’m going to Tembisa.

Taxi driver: Go well

4. Driver took a shortcut..

Passenger (an old lady): Where’s the taxi going sir?

Driver: It’s going forward

5. Me: jumps in a taxi and puts on a seat-belt

Driver: Hey you! Take off that thing, you’ll bring us bad luck.

6. Passenger: Good morning driver, how much is the taxi?

Taxi driver: It’s not for sale

7. The customer is always right at a shop, not in a taxi.

8.”No man! why are you banging my door, it’s better you use the window”

9. Taxi driver: Do you have a smartphone?

Me: Yes

Taxi driver: Use it to help you calculate the change since you’re dumb.

Me: mxm

Taxi driver: excuse me?

Me: Nothing.
