Boxer heads to Russia for fight

LIMPOPO – Well-known Tzaneen boxer, Ripfumelo Noah Chikwambana will fight against Russian boxer, Shukurjon Rakhimov in an eight-round match in Russia on 1 February.

According to his trainer, Harry Manaka of the VIP Boxing Club, he is excited about the fight and indicated that this would help put Mopani as a district on the map.

“We wish him well and hope that he will win this fight in order to give hope to the young aspiring boxers from the villages,” he said.

This will be the first international fight for Chikwambana since turning professional last year.
