Phalaborwa cruise to 8-wicket victory over Aces

A strong Phalaborwa Cricket Club (PCC) side meant business and cruised to an eight-wicket victory in just 11 overs

POLOKWANE – Despite rain threatening play, a strong Phalaborwa Cricket Club (PCC) side were quick to chase down a low total of just 37 runs, beating the Nashua Aces’ second team in the promotional league. PCC are currently sixth on the log, having played four games, with one bonus point win.

Aces, who are eighth on the log, won the toss and decided to bat first but their innings was short-lived thanks to precise bowling from Lehlogonolo Malatji who took five wickets for just seven runs.

Aces were bowled out for a mere 37 runs in just 20,3 overs. Justin le Roux was their top batsman, scoring 10 runs from 24 balls with one four.

Aces batsman, Anton Zietsman hit two fours, the most for the day.

Phalaborwa meant business and cruised to an eight-wicket victory in just 11 overs. Hector Ngobeni was their top scorer with 12 runs from 25 balls, not out.

This Sunday’s promotional league fixtures include a derby between Nashua Aces and PanSolutions Eagles’ second teams at Hoërskool Pietersburg’s oval while Seshego Cricket Club’s second take on the Mahwelereng Vultures at the Genl. Piet Joubert oval.
