A beloved resident of Polokwane, Ana Fatima Pinto de Abreu, well known to all her clients and friends as the Bendor Laundromat “Tannie”, passed away on 4 January.

Ana has been the founder and owner of the Bendor Laundromat since 2003. One never left the shop without having had a nice visit with Ana, as she always had a story, advice or love to give. “Ana will always be remembered for her big heart, loving and chatty personality, as she was always a loving mother to all her clients and family,” Daniella (Danny) Anderson, her granddaughter, said.” One was never treated as a customer, but became part of her circle of friends, the Bendor Laundromat family.

Ana’s husband Guilherme de Abreu passed away in 2011.

She leaves behind three daughters: Karina Gomes, Anete Jardim and Sandra Jardim, two sons-in-law, Tony and Luis Jardim and six grandchildren. In celebration of Ana’s life, the family requested that persons attending the service please wear colourful clothes, and in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Cancer Foundation of South Africa.
