Mutilated body found in Polokwane identified as KZN man

The brutality of this murder has led to an in-depth search operation for those involved. 

POLOKWANE – The mutilated body of the man who was found near the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex on Thursday, 12 December has been identified as a visitor from KwaZulu Natal.

His body was found lying under a bridge along the N1 bypass near the sports complex. The body was badly mutilated and some body parts were missing.

Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo says preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased, 70-year-old Patric Sindisa Langa from New Castle, had allegedly visited a local church in Seshego and never returned home.

The deceased’s family has since been traced and notified, adds Mojapelo.

The Provincial Police Commissioner, Genl Nneke Ledwaba has urged the public to come forward with information that can assist the police with the investigation. He further condemned the perpetrators of this heinous crime due to the inhumane nature in which the deceased’s body was dismembered.

The motive for the incident is still not known but police have not ruled out ritual murder.
