Festive greetings – Mayor

The year 2019 was a definite roller coaster with moments of highs and lows and it’s now coming to an end.

POLOKWANE – As we take a reflection, I will continue to be grateful for all the support and cooperation that we continue to receive from the community in our endeavour to build a better Polokwane, that could be likened to other developing cities.Holding hands with our communities remains the cornerstone of the Re Aga Polokwane campaign which seeks to get everyone involved and positively contribute towards the rebuilding of the city for the future. As we celebrate this festive season, it remains my wish that we continue to forgive each other and embrace our love for one another. We must embrace the spirit of outgrowing hatred for one another and conflict. Our love for this country must unite us and break the barriers of racism, fight gender-based violence, inequality and poverty.Let us allow this festive season to be about family and allow our good deeds to brighten the lives of those in need. Our plea to those who will be on recess is to please rest and make time to spend with your families. The roads will be extremely busy and motorists are advised to exercise patience, tolerance and humility. Don’t drink and drive. Let’s buckle up and enjoy the ride. Arrive Alive! We can never forget to thank God for sparing our lives in 2019 and we must pray that He delivers us into 2020 in good health. On behalf of the Polokwane Municipality Council and staff, may this Christmas end the present year on a cheerful note and make way for a fresh and bright New Year. Here’s wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
