Pitso Mothapo - "I do not see the significance of New Year's resolutions per say. This is because everyone has a plan for themselves regardless of whether they want the plan to materialise within a year or more. New Year's resolutions tend to let people bite off more than they can chew."
POLOKWANE – These can be a variety of things from loosing weight, saving up money or even enrolling for an academic course. Over the years people have started showing disinterest in having resolutions on various online platforms. Review took to the streets to find out whether people still believed in New Year’s resolutions and if they ever complete them.
This is what they had to say:
Jeffrey Mavasa -“I do have resolutions but I like keeping them to myself as personal achievements. Unless they are things that I have decided to do for or with someone else. I think you can only get them done when you work on them quietly.”
Celia Mukuru – “Resolutions help keep life go according to plan. This is as long as you make realistic resolutions that you will be able to keep to. It does not help to make resolutions that you cannot keep to or achieve.”
Jacques Yzel – “New Year’s resolutions do not help with anything if you do not put in some effort to get them done. I personally stopped believing in them a couple of years ago because it is demotivating if you do not get them done.”
Kobele Mashangwane – “I do not believe in resolutions anymore. This is because we always make the resolutions to break them so why bother to make them in the first place. Everyone must just work on their things on their own pace.”
Khetiwe Masemola – “I never have New Year’s resolutions because I do not see the need for them. I have a life plan.”
