Woman stabbed, hacked to death in Limpopo
A 45-year-old man and husband of the deceased was arrested for the murder
LIMPOPO -The 35-year- old woman was murdered during an domestic-related incident at Tshino location, Vuwani earlier today (Saturday, 7 December)
According to police reports the accused had reportedly accused his wife of cheating and after a heated argument, he then stabbed and hacked her death. She died on the spot Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo.
He left the scene and local residents pursued him until they caught him and beat him up. The police were then notified and he was arrested and taken to hospital where he was admitted under police guard.
The accused will appear in the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder after he has recuperated from his injuries.
Provincial Police Commissioner, Lt Genl Nneke Ledwaba has condemned the incident and warned communities to desist from resorting to violent behavior when dealing with domestic issues. “The SAPS will deal decisively with any perpetrators of gender based violence and this arrest should send a strong message about our determination to stamp it out,” concluded Ledwaba.
