Crash on R81 claims two lives
A man a child died after two vehicles collided head-on on the R81 Wegpat road in the Mopani district.
LIMPOPO – The incident happened at around 05:00 on Saturday, 23 November.
In a statement, Spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matomi Moremi-Taueatsoala said the incident involved a Audi sedan and a Toyota LDV.
Two people including a child died and another occupant was critically injured. Three others sustained serious injuries. All injured patients were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
A case of reckless driving and negligence is under investigation.
Meanwhile at around 06:00 on Saturday, 23 November a truck overturned and lost it’s load on the N1 about 5km before the Mookgophong turnoff, direction south.
The cause of the incident or possible injuries could not been confirmed.
