eLoadIn: Sharing programmes the environmentally friendly way

To eliminate the use of event paper programmes, Akani Maluleke and Pennington Mushwana launched an innovative website, eLoadIn.

POLOKWANE – The Giyani-born entrepreneurs are currently based in Polokwane.

Akani says the free-to-use platform has numerous benefits, which include saving money on printing costs and saving time which event hosts spend on printing, distributing and discarding printed programmes.

Akani says another benefit is reducing the environmental footprint, which results from the excessive use of printed programmes.

The platform caters for all types of events ranging from weddings to funerals, birthday parties and other mass gatherings.

The innovative service has a three-step process which makes it easy to use and takes fewer than five minutes to post and share a programme with guests. The first step is registration or signing in, which can also be done using social media credentials. The second step is uploading a PDF version of the event together with a picture which will result in a unique number allocated to the programme.

The last step is sharing the programme’s unique number, which guests can use to retrieve the programme by running a search on the website.

Akani says: “Technological advancement in most aspects of our lives cannot be avoided. It is just a matter of time before we live in a paperless society, excluding toilet paper, of course.”
