Stolen EMLM water tanker recovered in Mpumalanga
In a statement, the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM) said the water tanker was stolen by armed robbers at its satellite office in Uitspan outside Groblersdal.
LIMPOPO – An Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM) water tanker truck, worth R1,5 million, which was stolen in Uitspan outside Groblersdal, had been recovered in Mpumalanga. Simon Makua, EMLM Public Relations and Communications Manager, confirmed that the truck, which was stolen on 17 October, had been recovered.
In a statement, the local municipality said the water tanker was stolen by armed robbers at its satellite office in Uitspan outside Groblersdal.

The local municipality said police were continuing with investigations and would ensure that those responsible for the crime were apprehended. Makua said the local municipality would like to thank the recovery team, Gubis85 Security, Tracker and the South African Police who followed up on leads until the water tanker was recovered.
He added that they as the local municipality would like to express their deepest gratitude to the community for displaying patience and understanding.
“We wish to assure the community that services will continue as usual and our quest for quality service delivery will continue as anticipated,” concluded Makua.
Seun Mogotji, Bolsheviks Party of South Africa (BPSA), an opposition party leader in EMLM council, called on the municipality to strengthen security on its property to ensure that criminal activities did not stand in the way of service delivery.
