POLOKWANE – 13 test officials of privately-owned testing stations in the city were arrested earlier today.
This is part of Operation Corolla, which is conducted by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation in collaboration with the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) and the Special Investigative Unit (SIU).

MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Namane Dickson Masemola addresses the media after the arrests were made.
This brings the total number of officials arrested as part of the ongoing operation to 32. This after 11 officials were on Wednesday arrested at a privately-owned testing station in Marble Hall and four at the Phalala vehicle testing station in Lephalale on Monday.
More arrests are expected as the operation continues. All 17 accused will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today.
