LIMPOPO -Spelling bees are competitions in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty. The Limpopo spelling bee championship targets learners in Grade 4 to 11 and is aimed at improving learner’s performance in languages, especially in English.
Masepela Bophelo, learner from Kgwadu Primary School took first position in his category and Mamoshunkwane Leputu, learner from Toronto Primary School, Mamoshunkwane Leputu came third in his category.
Kingsley Sebola, founder of the provincial Kingsley Spelling Bee competition says Limpopo is currently getting lots of attention and the learners are doing exceptionally well.
On 12 October they will be hosting their second annual competition at at Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane and around 350 learners from Limpopo, Lesotho and learners from the Atlegang Bana Foundation in Soweto are expected to compete.
“We are encouraging all learners to participate in this program as it is fun and inspiring. Parents are encouraged to show their support on the day. We are able to do it with the help of Bargain House company, Last Power Spares and Ladimash Productions,” said Kingsley.
