Man suspected of dealing drugs in Polokwane suburb arrested

The 43-year-old man was one of two arrested for possession and dealing in different drugs during a parallel intelligence-driven operation conducted in the Polokwane and Tzaneen areas, respectively.

POLOKWANE – In a statement, Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe said during the Polokwane operation, members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit together with the Polokwane Crime Intelligence arrested a 43-year-old Nigerian National suspected in drug dealing at one of the suburbs in the city. 210 sachets of nyaope drugs were also recovered during the arrest.

In the Tzaneen Cluster, a 29-year-old the suspect was arrested at his house in Nkowankowa, during the intelligence led joint drug operation “Tsuba”. The operation was conducted by members of the Tzaneen Crime Intelligence, K9 Unit, Drug Unit and Ritavi Visible Policing members. 16 packets of Crystal Meth, 9 packets of CAT, 20 packets of nyaope, 16 packets of Rock, 8 packets of dagga and cash to the value of R6 900 was confiscated. The money is believed to be proceeds from the sales of these drugs.

The two suspects are expected to appear before the respective courts in the Polokwane and Tzaneen areas soon.

The Provincial Police Commissioner, Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Jim Ledwaba has commended the teams for their hard work in the endless fight against the scourge of drugs in the province.
