[UPDATE] Suspect arrested and charged with Lebowakgomo teenager’s murder

18-year-old, Boshelo Petja, was shot when conflict erupted between the security guards and the community near Dithabaneng Mine in Sefalaolo, Ga-Mphahlele Village.

POLOKWANE – A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of an 18-year-old boy during a community protest in Lebowakgomo on Wednesday, 17 July.

Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the man was charged with murder and is expected to appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court, soon.

“At this stage, it is still unclear as to what lead to the incident, however, investigations are continuing”
