We spoke to a few members of the Vintage Gurus, a group of young people from Seshego who dress up in vintage clothes, to find out from them why the love vintage clothing and how their love has developed over the years.

I used to wear their clothes and even at church, I was the one who always stood out with the type of clothes I wear, which is nice. It just so happened that I was unable to go into town to buy clothes for days like civvies so vintage clothes became my escape. Initially I would go for the classic look, but then I discovered vintage wear and I fell hopelessly in love with it. I don’t see myself changing my style for anything in this world. “Daniel Motsepe – Before I started wearing vintage clothes, I would wear the classic look but then many people started going for the classic look as well. I decided to go for something a little bit different and wear vintage instead.Kgaugelo Salome Mamabolo – Growing up, I always loved fashion and when I would buy clothes,I would mix it it and create my own fashion sense. It was when I came across the Vintage Gurus that I decided to embrace the vintage wholeheartedly and become one of them.
