These can and may include:

• Finding that one thing that your father loves to do, whether it is sharing a meal or listening to his favorite music while enjoying a hot brewed cup of coffee. This fathers day, give your dad exactly that.

• Wishing him a Happy Fathers Day may just make his entire year, as it would show how much you love and appreciate him.

• Preparing his favorite meal and sitting down to enjoy the food over a conversation is another way to honor your father.

Review spoke to local Dad, Sarel Nong who is father of two, a boy and girl. He spoke to Review and said he remembers advice and motivation from his father which has assisted him to be the man, father and husband that he is today.

Sarel said the first piece of advice that he lives by is to always respect other people and to never use violence to resolve a problem, unless one’s life is in danger. “Violence and anger are never the answers to solving problems. I learned this from my father. He was a calm and very kind man and respected everyone around him, no matter the age, class, gender or even race,” he added.

The second piece of advice that Sarel remembers and says he will definitely pass on to his son, is to always respect women. “Women are very important beings. They give life to earth, they nurture and take care of us even when they don’t feel like it and for that I will always respect a woman, especially the mother of my two children, my beautiful wife, Palesa, she is my pillar of strength and the glue that holds our family intact,” he concluded.
