Two Limpopo College of Nursing students killed in a hit and run incident
The MEC of Health, Dr Phophi Ramathuba says she is counting on police to fully investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to book.
LIMPOPO – Two nursing students, attached to the Limpopo College of Nursing, are reported to have died in a hit and run accident in Thohoyandou on Friday night, 31 May, reports the Limpopo Department of Health.

In a statement released, spokesperson, Neil Shikwambana says the first student was hit by a car that immediately sped off and when the second student tried to check the first one’s injuries, he too was hit by a car that sped off. The two students, from Bochum and Sekhukhune respectively, died on the scene.
“The department believes that the SAPS will, through their investigations, bring the perpetrators to book,” he said.
The MEC for Health, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, has on behalf of the department, sent condolences to the deceased’s families, saying she is saddened by the loss of the lives of two promising young men.
“We are counting on SAPS to fully investigate the matter. The department has dispatched college management and the SRC to deliver condolences to the two families,” said MEC Ramathuba.
