“It is our responsibility to ensure our children learn in a clean environment”

Four women from Polokwane and surrounding areas have undertaken an initiative to help keep schools clean, by cleaning classrooms for free as the Theogela Mothepa Commercial Cleaners.

POLOKWANE – “Our children go to these school and it is our responsibility, just as it is the teachers responsibility to ensure that our children learn in a healthy and clean environment, because no one can fully concentrate and focus in a unhealthy and dirty environment, whether it is a school or working environment,” explained Tshepiso Moseri, founder and owner of Theogela Mothepa Commercial Cleaners.

The young lady says that she has always had a passion for business and a heart for doing community development work, which is why she then decided to start an organisation which will not only help her to play her role in community development but also expose her to the world of business.

“The organisation was established in 2018 with an aim to help clean up schools in our communities to ensure that learners are taught in safe and clean environments. However since we started we have grown commercial and are now able to offer cleaning services at a fee, which help employees earn an income to help support their families. We offer a wide range of cleaning services for any type of environment,” added Tshepiso.

“Everyone loves to be in a clean, fresh smelling environment as cleanliness and a well-organised environment has a positive effect on those who work or live in that environment. We become energetic and full of life when we live and work in a clean environments. Cleaners should actually be the most respected service providers in the community as without them the environment will be polluted, as well as the minds of the people. People will get sick and also lack confidence to fully participate and put in their efforts in the various work that they do,” added Shadung Makamole.

Theogela Mothepa Commercial Cleaning have now partnered with Tshwaranang Youth and Community Development, in order to ensure that they continue to keep local schools clean and tidy.

Recently the group of women cleaned Letlotlo Primary School in Zone 1, Seshego and will be moving on to other schools nearby to continue with their humanitarian work.
