Ledet boosts Rejoyce’s chances of getting to Bangkok

Rejoyce Legodi, a young entrepreneur from Mmotong has something to rejoice about after Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET) approved her registration fee of R 7 300 to guarantee her spot at the 5th Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, which will take place in Bangkok, Thailand.

POLOKWANE – Rejoyce initially had until 30 March to pay a registration fee for the bootcamp which will take place from 26 to 30 June.

She made a request for an extension of deadline to pay for registration and she was given until the 16 April to come up with the money, which LEDET has now approved. With her hopes of getting to Bangkok even higher, Rejoyce said that she is very excited.

“I am ecstatic, I could not even hold back tears. I can just see myself in Thailand already, I am ready to dust of my passport and leave this place. I have soldiered on despite being at my wits end and having moments of doubts and asking myself whether I should just give up,” she said. Her eagerness would not allow her to give up though and even with the deadline looming, she did not stop knocking on doors, sending out the link from the initial story on Review online on March 29 where she was asking for sponsorship to make the trip.

However, the struggle is not over yet as she still needs to raise money for flight and visa costs, but she remains hopeful that she will raise it in time for the bootcamp. “My peers are inspired by my persistence, which is amazing because they are also out there doing amazing things for themselves. I am over the moon, I cant even express it. It’s amazing that I’m about to step into the global market and fly the South African flag high. A rural girl from Mmotong, is about to make waves,” she said.
