Water supply and electricity issues to effect Polokwane and Seshego

A Specon Pipe burst is set to affect Polowkane's water supply yet again and a mini-substation that supplies Seshego Zone 2 is experiencing an overload

POLOWKANE – Lepelle Northern Water has just stopped water supply to Polokwane Municipality from the Olifanspoort Plant due to another specon pipe burst.

Municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selela, in a statement said that technicians are attending to the situation and affected areas of supply include the city, Seshego, Ivy Park Ext 34, Ga-Chuene, Ga-Maja and Thokgwaneng.

“Water will be restored once the leaks are fixed. In the meantime, areas receiving water are urged to use water sparingly and responsibly,” he said.

Meanwhile, a mini-substation that supplies electricity to Skotipola in Seshego, Zone 2 is experiencing an overload. Selela says municipal technicians are working on the problem and that residents are urged to use electricity sparingly and switch off non-essential appliances.

“The municipality will provide regular updates in terms of any new developments concerning water and electricity supply to the affected areas,’ he concluded.
