No jobs for sale, reiterates the Polokwane Municipality

The Polokwane Municipality warns all job seekers to be cautious of false job offers that may be circulating in the name of the Polokwane Municipality.

POLOKWANE – This after the municipality, over the weekend, advertised new posts in line with its Human Resource policy.
According to statement issued by the spokesperson of the Polokwane Municipality, Thipa Selala, these false job scams have been circulating since beginning of February and the municipality advises interested applicants to consult the list of current vacancies on the municipal website www.polokwane.gov.za and follow social media pages (Twitter: @PolokwaneMuni and Facebook: Polokwane Municipality) and on newspapers for more information.
“The municipality appeals to job seekers to exercise extra caution when applying, in particular when individuals are required to pay money in exchange for job placement. Polokwane Municipality will never request any payment from applicants for job offer. We urge the public to be vigilant and not accept any job offer they did not apply for or conducted an interview for,” explained Selala.
Thipa further said that they are closely monitoring such incidents to ensure that information regarding current municipality vacancies is circulated accordingly following all procedures required.
The municipality urges all to report any suspicious activities related to municipal vacancies, to the police or municipality’s Human Resource Unit.

“We further urge the public to be vigilant when being promised any false jobs they did not apply for, there no jobs for sale from the Polokwane municipality,” concluded Thipa.
